  1  1    Amend Senate File 427 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 2, by striking lines 9 through 13, and
  1  3 inserting the following:  "allow the office to be
  1  4 voted on at the general election.  Votes cast for the
  1  5 deceased candidate shall not be canvassed.  Votes cast
  1  6 for all other candidates for that office shall be
  1  7 canvassed as provided in chapter 50.  The county
  1  8 chairperson of the political party of the deceased
  1  9 candidate shall notify the commissioner in writing as
  1 10 soon as practicable before the date of the election
  1 11 whether the county convention wishes to proceed under
  1 12 subsection 1 or".
