1 1 Amend Senate File 523 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 3, by inserting after line 21 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. ___. HOME HEALTH SERVICES – REGULATORY
1 5 REQUIREMENTS. The departments of public health and
1 6 inspections and appeals shall review federal and state
1 7 requirements applicable to providers of homemaker,
1 8 home-health aide, home-care aide, hospice, and other
1 9 in-home services to persons with health problems. The
1 10 review shall include but is not limited to current and
1 11 proposed federal requirements for quality assurance,
1 12 fiscal information concerning the source of regulatory
1 13 funding, feasibility analysis of requiring criminal
1 14 and dependent adult abuse record checks of employees
1 15 of the providers, feasibility analysis of implementing
1 16 state regulation of the providers, and other
1 17 information deemed appropriate by the departments.
1 18 The departments shall submit a report of findings and
1 19 recommendations on or before December 15, 1997."
