1 1 Section 1. Section 602.1303, subsection 1, paragraph b,
1 2 Code 1997, is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 3 EXPLANATION
1 4 This bill strikes the requirement that the counties within
1 5 the judicial districts provide and pay the costs for suitable
1 6 offices and other physical facilities for the district court
1 7 administrator and staff at locations within the judicial
1 8 districts as determined by the chief judge of the respective
1 9 judicial districts. Pursuant to Code section 602.1302,
1 10 subsection 1, the expenses of operating the judicial
1 11 department not otherwise required to be paid by some other
1 12 entity shall be paid from the general fund of the state from
1 13 funds appropriated to the department.
