  1  1    Section 1.  The traditional American square dance shall
  1  2 officially be designated the state folk dance of Iowa.
  1  3    Sec. 2.  The editor of the Iowa official register is
  1  4 directed to include an appropriate picture illustrating the
  1  5 traditional American square dance in Iowa, accompanied by
  1  6 suitable text, in the section devoted to state symbols.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This Joint Resolution designates the traditional American
  1  9 square dance as the official state folk dance of Iowa.
