  1  1    Section 1.  Section 598.21, Code Supplement 1997, is
  1  2 amended by adding the following new subsection:
  1  3    NEW SUBSECTION.  4C.  Notwithstanding subsection 4, if
  1  4 visitation is awarded to a parent in excess of the average
  1  5 liberal visitation rights award, the court shall deviate from
  1  6 the guidelines in calculating the child support obligation.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill requires the court to deviate from the uniform
  1  9 child support guidelines in calculating the child support
  1 10 obligation of a parent if the parent is awarded visitation in
  1 11 excess of the average liberal visitation rights award.
