1 1 Section 1. Section 272.31, subsection 1, paragraph c, Code
1 2 Supplement 1997, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 c. Successful completion of two semester credit hours or
1 4 twenty contact hours in a course relating to knowledge and
1 5 understanding of the prevention and care of athletic injuries,
1 6 cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification, and medical and
1 7 safety problems relating to physical activity.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill requires the minimum requirements for a coaching
1 10 authorization to include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
1 11 certification.
1 12 The bill amends Code section 272.31, relating to
1 13 requirements for the board of educational examiners to award a
1 14 coaching authorization to an applicant, to include the CPR
1 15 requirement.
