  1  1    Section 1.  Section 426B.1, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code
  1  2 Supplement 1997, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    c.  For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1997 1998, and
  1  4 succeeding fiscal years, ninety-five one hundred seven
  1  5 million, ninety-one thousand dollars.
  1  6    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1  7 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment, and applies
  1  8 to fiscal years beginning on or after July 1, 1998.  
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10    This bill relates to and makes appropriations to the
  1 11 property tax relief fund created in Code chapter 426B.
  1 12    The bill provides for an increase in the standing limited
  1 13 appropriation from the general fund of the state to the
  1 14 property tax relief fund.  The increase is from $95 million to
  1 15 $107,091,000 annually, beginning with fiscal year 1998-1999.
  1 16    The bill takes effect upon enactment.
