1 1 Section 1. Section 85.71, subsection 2, Code 1997, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 2. The employee is working under a contract of hire made
1 4 in this state in employment not principally localized in any
1 5 state and the employee spends a substantial part of the
1 6 employee's working time working for the employer in this
1 7 state, or
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill provides that an employee who is injured while
1 10 working outside of the state under a contract of hire made in
1 11 this state in employment not principally localized in any
1 12 state is entitled to Iowa workers' compensation benefits only
1 13 if the employee spends a substantial part of the employee's
1 14 working time for the employer in this state.
