1 1 Section 1. Section 307.10, subsection 1, Code 1997, is
1 2 amended by striking the subsection and inserting in lieu
1 3 thereof the following:
1 4 1. a. Develop and coordinate an updated comprehensive
1 5 transportation policy for the state by January 15, 1998. The
1 6 policy shall be submitted to the general assembly for
1 7 approval, modification, or rejection. Any future revision to
1 8 the policy shall be submitted to the general assembly for its
1 9 approval, modification, or rejection.
1 10 b. A comprehensive transportation plan which is based upon
1 11 the updated comprehensive transportation policy shall be
1 12 submitted to the governor and the general assembly annually on
1 13 January 15.
1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill requires the state transportation commission to
1 16 develop an updated comprehensive transportation policy by
1 17 January 15, 1998, and requires the general assembly to
1 18 approve, modify, or reject the policy.
