1 4 TO LEGALIZE CERTAIN UNIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT DISTRICT TAX
1 5 LEVIES AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

1 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 9 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 28E.28B TAX LEVIES.
1 10 Each unified law enforcement district tax levy authorized
1 11 pursuant to section 28E.22 prior to July 1, 1983, which
1 12 continued to be collected for a period subsequent to July 1,
1 13 1983, or continues to be collected notwithstanding the
1 14 expiration of the five-year period specified by the referendum
1 15 which authorized the levy, is hereby legalized and deemed
1 16 valid as if the levy had been authorized subsequent to July 1,
1 17 1983.
1 18 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of
1 19 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
