  1  1    Section 1.  Section 805.8, subsection 2, paragraph w, Code
  1  2 1997, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    w.  For failure to have a valid license or permit for
  1  4 operating a motor vehicle on the highways of this state, the
  1  5 scheduled fine is twenty one hundred dollars.  
  1  6                           EXPLANATION
  1  7    This bill increases the scheduled fine for driving without
  1  8 a valid license or permit from $20 to $100.
