1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 600B.40A TEMPORARY ORDERS –
1 2 SUPPORT, CUSTODY, OR VISITATION OF A CHILD.
1 3 Upon petition of either parent in a proceeding involving
1 4 support, custody, or visitation of a child for whom paternity
1 5 has been established and whose mother and father have not been
1 6 and are not married to each other at the time of filing of the
1 7 petition, the court may issue a temporary order for support,
1 8 custody, or visitation of the child. The temporary orders
1 9 shall be made in accordance with the provisions relating to
1 10 issuance of and changes in temporary orders for support,
1 11 custody, or visitation of a child by the court in a
1 12 dissolution of marriage proceeding pursuant to chapter 598.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill provides, upon petition of a parent, for the
1 15 issuance and subsequent change of temporary orders by the
1 16 court for support, custody, or visitation of a child for whom
1 17 paternity has been established and whose parents were not
1 18 married at the time of the child's birth or at the time of
1 19 filing of a petition. The provisions relating to temporary
1 20 orders for support, custody, and visitation of a child which
1 21 apply in dissolution of marriage proceedings are applicable to
1 22 these proceedings.
