  1  1    Section 1.  Chapter 523H, Code 1997, is repealed.  
  1  2                           EXPLANATION
  1  3    This bill repeals chapter 523H which governs certain
  1  4 franchise agreements.
  1  5    Chapter 523H is a general business franchise statute and
  1  6 governs those franchise agreements which are not governed by
  1  7 other more specific provisions and exempted under the statute.
  1  8    Chapter 523H contains provisions relating to the transfer
  1  9 of a franchise, encroachment of a new franchise on an existing
  1 10 franchise, termination of a franchise, nonrenewal of a
  1 11 franchise, and other miscellaneous provisions.
