1 2 BY BUKTA and BRADLEY
1 3 A Concurrent Resolution congratulating Clinton
1 4 Community College for 50 years of service to the
1 5 people of Clinton County.
1 6 WHEREAS, 50 years ago the people of Clinton
1 7 enthusiastically voted to fund the construction of a
1 8 new junior college for the community; and
1 9 WHEREAS, this academic year marks the 50th
1 10 anniversary of the creation of Clinton Junior College;
1 11 and
1 12 WHEREAS, Clinton Junior College was renamed Clinton
1 13 Community College when it became part of the state's
1 14 community college system in 1966; and
1 15 WHEREAS, more than 1,100 students currently attend
1 16 Clinton Community College; and
1 17 WHEREAS, more than 10,000 students have attended
1 18 Clinton Community College in its 50-year history; and
1 19 WHEREAS, the people of Clinton County and this
1 20 state are grateful for the educational opportunities
1 21 provided by Clinton Community College; NOW THEREFORE,
1 22 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE
1 23 SENATE CONCURRING, That the General Assembly of the
1 24 State of Iowa recognize the people of Clinton County
1 25 whose foresight and community spirit created Clinton
1 26 Junior College 50 years ago, and congratulate the
1 27 faculty, staff, and administrators of Clinton
1 28 Community College on this 50th anniversary of
1 29 providing educational services and training to the
1 30 citizens of Clinton County and this state.
