  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-9257, to the Senate
  1  2 amendment, H-9118, to House File 2498, as amended,
  1  3 passed, and reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, line 28, by striking the figure "1998"
  1  5 and inserting the following:  "1999".
  1  6    #2.  Page 1, line 36, by striking the figure "1998"
  1  7 and inserting the following:  "1999".
  1  8    #3.  Page 2, by striking line 19 and inserting the
  1  9 following:  "a licensee.
  1 10    Sec. ___.  Section 99F.11, unnumbered paragraph 1,
  1 11 Code 1997, is amended to read as follows
  1 12    A tax is imposed on the adjusted gross receipts
  1 13 received annually from gambling games authorized under
  1 14 this chapter at the rate of five percent on the first
  1 15 one million dollars of adjusted gross receipts, at the
  1 16 rate of ten percent on the next two million dollars of
  1 17 adjusted gross receipts, and at the rate of twenty
  1 18 percent on any amount of adjusted gross receipts over
  1 19 three million dollars.  However, beginning January
  1 20 July 1, 1997 1998, the rate on any amount of adjusted
  1 21 gross receipts over three million dollars from
  1 22 gambling games at racetrack enclosures is twenty-two
  1 23 twenty-four percent and shall increase by two percent
  1 24 each succeeding calendar year until the rate is
  1 25 thirty-six percent.  The taxes imposed by this section
  1 26 shall be paid by the licensee to the treasurer of
  1 27 state within ten days after the close of the day when
  1 28 the wagers were made and shall be distributed as
  1 29 follows:"
