1 1 Amend the amendment, H-8847, to House File 2506 as
1 2 follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 38 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "The department shall establish two study control
1 6 refuge areas for mussels along the Mississippi river.
1 7 One refuge shall be pool no. 15, which is the region
1 8 of the upper Mississippi river system that is
1 9 impounded by lock and dam no. 15. The second refuge
1 10 shall be a healthy pool of the upper Mississippi river
1 11 system that is impounded by a lock and dam as
1 12 determined by the department and the commercial mussel
1 13 industry. The refuge areas shall be closed for mussel
1 14 fishing during the study."
