1 1 Amend Senate File 2023, as passed by the Senate, as

1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 11 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. ___. Section 321.34, Code Supplement 1997,
1 6 is amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 7 NEW SUBSECTION. 10A. EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
1 8 PLATES. The owner of a motor vehicle subject to
1 9 registration pursuant to section 321.109, subsection
1 10 1, light delivery truck, panel delivery truck, pickup,
1 11 motor home, multipurpose vehicle, or travel trailer
1 12 who is a current member of a paid or volunteer
1 13 emergency medical services agency, may upon written
1 14 application to the department, order special
1 15 registration plates, designed by the department in
1 16 cooperation with representatives designated by the
1 17 Iowa emergency medical services association, which
1 18 plates signify that the applicant is a current member
1 19 of a paid or volunteer emergency medical services
1 20 agency. The application shall be approved by the
1 21 department, in consultation with representatives
1 22 designated by the Iowa emergency medical services
1 23 association, and the special registration plates shall
1 24 be issued to the applicant in exchange for the
1 25 registration plates previously issued to the person.
1 26 The fee for the special plates shall be twenty-five
1 27 dollars which shall be in addition to the regular
1 28 annual registration fee. The department shall
1 29 validate the special plates in the same manner as
1 30 regular registration plates are validated under this
1 31 section at the regular annual registration fee."
1 32 #2. Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
1 33 word "spouses" the following: "and to the issuance of
1 34 emergency medical services motor vehicle registration
1 35 plates and establishing fees".
