  1  1    Amend House File 2167 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, line 5, by inserting after the word
  1  3 "incorporated" the following:  "1."
  1  4    #2.  Page 1, line 8, by inserting after the word
  1  5 "Act." the following:  "The corporation may engage in
  1  6 activities authorized in this section; however, the
  1  7 corporation shall not request or seek any direct
  1  8 appropriation from the general assembly to support its
  1  9 operation."
  1 10    #3.  Page 1, by inserting after line 21 the
  1 11 following:
  1 12    "2.  The corporation is authorized to exercise any
  1 13 power granted under chapter 504A and may engage in any
  1 14 activity intended to accomplish any of the following
  1 15 goals:
  1 16    a.  Development and promotion of the economy of the
  1 17 state.
  1 18    b.  Creation of high quality jobs and a high
  1 19 quality of life.
  1 20    c.  Enhancement of the skills of the workforce in
  1 21 the state.
  1 22    d.  The building of capacity in communities of the
  1 23 state for economic growth.
  1 24    e.  Improvement of the quality and efficiency of
  1 25 government services.
  1 26    3.  The department of economic development and the
  1 27 corporation shall jointly submit an annual report to
  1 28 the general assembly concerning the activities of the
  1 29 corporation."
  1 30    #4.  Page 2, by striking lines 21 and 22 and
  1 31 inserting the following:  "and provisions of this
  1 32 Act."
  1 33    #5.  By renumbering as necessary.
