  1  1    Amend House File 723 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 4, line 19, by inserting after the word
  1  3 "years." the following:  "A city or county that has
  1  4 designated an area under section 404.1, subsection 5,
  1  5 and in which residential property will be eligible to
  1  6 receive a property tax exemption shall notify by mail
  1  7 the school district or districts in which the
  1  8 residential property is located.  However, residential
  1  9 property shall not be exempt from the property taxes
  1 10 certified by a school district in which the property
  1 11 is located if the board of directors of the school
  1 12 district passes, within sixty days of receipt of the
  1 13 notification, a resolution specifying that the
  1 14 residential property is not exempt from school
  1 15 property taxes."
