1 2 #1. Page 32, by inserting after line 2 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION GRANTS.
1 5 There is appropriated from the general fund of the
1 6 state to the department of human services for the
1 7 fiscal year beginning July 1, 1997, and ending June
1 8 30, 1998, the following amount, or so much thereof as
1 9 is necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
1 10 For grants to local communities for purposes of
1 11 juvenile delinquency prevention:
1 12 .................................................. $ 2,500,000
1 13 The department shall work cooperatively with other
1 14 state agencies in developing requirements for, and for
1 15 soliciting, reviewing, and awarding grants under this
1 16 section. If the department determines the grant
1 17 program could be administered at less cost to the
1 18 state by another state agency with expertise in
1 19 administering a similar program, the department may
1 20 transfer the moneys appropriated in this section to
1 21 the other state agency which shall administer the
1 22 grants."
