  1  1    Amend Senate File 189, as passed by the Senate, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by striking line 1 and inserting the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Section 1.  Section 257.1, subsection 2,
  1  6 unnumbered paragraph 3, Code 1997, is amended to read
  1  7 as follows:
  1  8    For the budget year commencing July 1, 1995 1997,
  1  9 the department of management shall add the amount of
  1 10 the additional budget adjustment computed in section
  1 11 257.14, subsection 2, to the combined foundation base.
  1 12    Sec. 2.  Section 257.14, subsections 1 and 2, Code
  1 13 1997, are".
  1 14    #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 11 the
  1 15 following:
  1 16    "2.  For the budget year beginning July 1, 1995
  1 17 1997, if the department of management determines that
  1 18 the regular program district cost plus the budget
  1 19 adjustment computed under subsection 1 of a school
  1 20 district is less than one hundred one percent of the
  1 21 total of the regular program district cost plus any
  1 22 adjustment added under this section for the base year
  1 23 for that school district, the department of management
  1 24 shall provide an additional budget adjustment for that
  1 25 budget year that is equal to the difference."
  1 26    #3.  Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
  1 27 word "years," the following:  "increasing the amount
  1 28 of that guarantee for one year,".
  1 29    #4.  By renumbering as necessary.
