PAG LIN 1 1 Amend House File 81 as follows: 1 2 #1. Page 1, by striking lines 2 through 15 and 1 3 inserting the following: "amended by striking the 1 4 subsection and inserting in lieu thereof the 1 5 following: 1 6 1. A person born after January 1, 1967, shall not 1 7 obtain a hunting license unless the person has 1 8 satisfactorily completed a hunter safety and ethics 1 9 education course approved by the commission. A person 1 10 who is eleven years of age or more may enroll in an 1 11 approved hunter safety and ethics education course, 1 12 but a person who is eleven years of age and who has 1 13 successfully completed the course shall be issued a 1 14 certificate of completion which becomes valid on the 1 15 person's twelfth birthday. A certificate of 1 16 completion from an approved hunter safety and ethics 1 17 education course issued in this state since 1960, by 1 18 another state, or by a foreign nation, is valid for 1 19 the requirements of this section." 1 20 #2. A certificate of completion shall not be issued 1 25 to a person who has not satisfactorily completed a 1 26 minimum of ten hours of training in an approved hunter 1 27 safety and ethics education course. The department 1 28 shall establish the curriculum for the first ten hours 1 29 of an approved hunter safety and ethics education 1 30 course offered in this state. Upon completion of the 1 31 ten-hour curriculum, each person shall pass an 1 32 individual oral test or a written test provided by the 1 33 department. The department shall establish the 1 34 criteria for successfully passing the tests.
