         The Senate met in regular session at 2:00 p.m., President Boswell
    presiding.

         Prayer was offered by the Reverend Sushil Joseph, pastor of the
    Dallas Center United Methodist Church, Dallas Center, Iowa.

         The Journal of Thursday, January 25, 1996, was approved.



                              INTRODUCTION OF BILL

         Senate File 2092, by Priebe, a bill for  an act providing for an
    exemption for employers of persons subject to the ignition interlock
    requirement and a prohibition against termination of the persons
    employment due to the ignition interlock requirement, and providing
    effective dates.

         Read first time and passed on file.

         The Senate stood at ease at 2:05 p.m. until the fall of the gavel
    for the purpose of a party caucus.

         The Senate resumed session at 2:58 p.m., President Boswell
    presiding.



                              INTRODUCTION OF BILLS

         Senate File 2093, by Flynn, a bill for  an act authorizing the
    issuance of lifetime fishing, hunting, and combined fishing and hunting
    licenses for residents who are sixty-five years of age or older.

         Read first time and passed on file.

         Senate File 2094, by Giannetto, a bill for  an act relating to the
    regulation of certain agricultural operations by counties.
         Read first time and passed on file.
