         Senator Palmer offered amendment S-5580 filed by Senators Palmer,
    Gronstal and Husak on March 27, 1996, to House amendment S-5574.

         Senator Palmer offered amendment S-5593 filed by Senators Palmer
    and Gronstal from the floor to amendment S-5580 to House amendment
    S-5574.

         Senator Iverson raised the point of order that amendment S-5593 was
    not germane to amendment S-5580.

         The Chair ruled the point not well taken and amendment S-5593 in
    order.

         Senator Bartz asked and received unanimous consent that action on
    amendment S-5593 to amendment S-5580 to House amendment S-5574 be
    deferred.

         Senator Bartz withdrew his request to defer.
