    House File 2449

         The Senate resumed consideration of House File 2449, a bill for  an
    act setting campaign contribution limits by persons and political
    committees, addressing independent expenditures on behalf of candidates,
    employee and member contributions, making penalties applicable, and
    providing an effective date, and amendment S-5489 by the committee on
    State Government to strike everything after the enacting clause and to
    the title page of the bill, and amendment S-5543 by Senators Lundby and
    McKean to page 7 of amendment S-5489, deferred March 27, 1996.

         President pro tempore Bisignano took the chair at 9:37 a.m.
