    Senate File 401

         On motion of Senator Deluhery, Senate File 401, a bill for an act
    relating to consumer-related actions, with report of committee on
    Judiciary recommending passage on April 4, 1995, and report of committee
    on Commerce recommending passage on February 6, 1996, was taken up for
    consideration.

         Senator Gronstal offered amendment S-5316 filed by him on March 12,
    1996, to page 1 of the bill and moved its adoption.

         Amendment S-5316 was adopted by a voice vote.

         Senator Gronstal offered amendment S-5315 filed by him on March 12,
    1996, to page 1 of the bill.

         Senator Rife raised the point of order that amendment S-5315 was
    not germane to the bill.

         The Chair ruled the point not well taken and amendment S-5315 in
    order.
