    BUSINESS AND LABOR

    Final Bill Action: SENATE FILE 2433 (SSB 2295), a  bill for  an act
    relating to workers compensation concerning medical services fee
    disputes, providing a stay of debt collection against an employer in
    workers compensation contested cases, and relating to disputes subject
    to settlement under workers compensation.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 7: Dearden, Freeman, Connolly, Giannetto, Hammond,
    Iverson and Maddox. Nays, none. Absent or not voting, 3: Gettings, Banks
    and Dvorsky.

    Fiscal Note: NOT REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.



    COMMERCE

    Final Bill Action: *SENATE FILE 2432 (SSB 2272), a bill for an act
    relating to the consumer credit code and permissible finance charges and
    other fees which may be charged to a consumer by a lender.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.

    Final Vote: Ayes, 13: Deluhery, Hansen, Jensen, Douglas, Flynn, Freeman,
    Gettings, Gronstal, Hedge, Husak, Palmer, Priebe and Redfern. Nays,
    none. Absent or not voting, 2: Bartz and Bisignano.

    Fiscal Note: NOT REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17.

         *Pursuant to Senate Rule 40, the Legislative Service Bureau
    reported nonsubstantive changes to the members of the Commerce Committee
    on Senate File 2432 and they were attached to the committee report.



    EDUCATION

    Final Bill Action: *SENATE FILE 2419 (SSB 2307), a bill for  an act
    relating to the activities of the department of education, vocational
    education, community colleges, to special area education programs, dual
    enrollment, payment of claims for nonpublic school pupil transportation,
    the school budget review committee, the enrollment of certain students,
    annual audits of school districts, and providing effective and
    retroactive applicability dates.

    Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.
