                   Des Moines, Iowa, Tuesday, February 6, 1996



         The Senate met in regular session at 9:00 a.m., President Boswell
    presiding.

         Prayer was offered by Father Thomas Geelan, pastor of the Sacred
    Heart Catholic Church, Boone, Iowa.

         The Journal of Monday, February 5, 1996, was approved.

         The Senate stood at ease at 9:05 a.m. until the fall of the gavel.

         The Senate resumed session at 9:09 a.m., President Boswell
    presiding.



                                     RECESS

         On motion of Senator Horn, the Senate recessed at 9:11 a.m., until
    1:30 p.m.
