The motion to suspend the rules lost.
Carroll of Poweshiek offered the following amendment H-5030,
previously deferred, filed by him, and moved its adoption:

H-5030

 1     Amend House File 2111 as follows:
 2     1.  Page 2, line 25, by inserting after the word
 3   "stepchildren," the following:  "nephews, nieces,".
 4     2.  Page 2, line 34, by inserting after the word
 5   "stepchildren," the following:  "nephews, nieces,".
 6     3.  Page 3, line 24, by inserting after the word
 7   "stepchild," the following:  "nephew, niece,".
Amendment H-5030 lost.

The House stood at ease at 5:12 p.m., until the fall of the
gavel.
The House resumed session at 5:34 p.m., Speaker Corbett in the
chair.

Halvorson of Clayton moved that the bill be read a last time now
and placed upon its passage which motion prevailed and the bill
was read a last time.
