         Senator Bartz from 95 residents of northern Iowa opposing
    legislation removing their parental rights by requiring mandatory helmet
    usage for bicycles.

         Senator Bartz from 114 residents of northern Iowa opposing
    legislation requiring mandatory helmet usage for motorcycles.

         Senator McLaren from 313 residents of Montgomery County favoring
    issuance of motor vehicle licenses by county treasurers.



                            PRESENTATION OF VISITORS

         The Chair welcomed the following visitors who were present in the
    Senate gallery:

         Thirty-nine fourth and fifth grade students, members of Campfire
    Girls and Boys from Cedar Rapids, accompanied by Kathy Spalti. Senators
    Dvorsky, Horn, Lundby and McKean.

         Sixteen eighth grade students from Sacred Heart School, Boone,
    accompanied by Tim McCloud. Senator Sorensen.

         Eleven seventh and eighth grade students from Sacred Heart School,
    Fort Dodge, accompanied by Janet Walkup. Senator Halvorson.

         The Chair welcomed the Honorable Jack W. Hester, former member of
    the House and Senate from Pottawattamie County, Honey Creek, Iowa, who
    was present in the Senate gallery.
