                                AFTERNOON SESSION

         The Senate reconvened at 4:55 p.m., President Boswell presiding.



                     HOUSE MESSAGES RECEIVED AND CONSIDERED

         The following messages were received from the Chief Clerk of the
    House:

         MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
    House has on April 5, 1995, adopted the following resolutions in which
    the concurrence of the Senate is asked:

         House Joint Resolution 11, a joint resolution proposing an
    amendment to the Constitution of the State of Iowa to eliminate the
    limitation on fines for offenses which may be summarily tried without
    indictment.

         This resolution was read first time and passed on file.

         House Joint Resolution 13, a joint resolution proposing an
    amendment to the Constitution of the State of Iowa relating to the
    equality of rights of men and women under the law.

         This resolution was read first time and passed on file.

         ALSO: That the House has on April 5, 1995, passed the following
    bills in which the concurrence of the Senate is asked:

         House File 150, a bill for  an act authorizing cities and counties
    access to the Iowa communications network, and providing an effective
    date.

         This bill was read first time and assigned to the committee on
    Communications and Information Policy.

         House File 334, a bill for  an act relating to the hearing and
    election provisions of the instructional support program of school
    districts.

         This bill was read first time and assigned to the committee on
    Education.

         House File 456, a bill for  an act relating to grain transactions,
    by providing for credit-sale contracts.
