PRESENTATION OF VISITORS The Chair welcomed the following visitors who were present in the Senate gallery; Eight sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from Callanan Middle School, Des Moines, accompanied by Penny Murphy. Senator Szymoniak. Thirty twelfth grade students from Tri County High School, Thornburg, accompanied by James Freeze. Senator Hedge. REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEE (Place nominee on Individual Confirmation Calendar) Pursuant to Senate Rule 59, the committee on Communications and Information Policy assigned to investigate the following appointment, completed its investigation on March 30, 1995, and made no recommendation: Harold M. Thompson as Executive Director of the Iowa Telecommunications and Technology Commission. COMMITTEE REPORTS COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION POLICY Final Bill Action: HOUSE FILE 161, a bill for an act relating to the fee which may be charged by an Iowa communications network receiving site. Recommendation: DO PASS. Final Vote: Ayes, 6: Dvorsky, Deluhery, McLaren, Flynn, Hansen and Redfern. Nays, none. Absent or not voting, 1: Jensen. Fiscal Note: REQUIRED UNDER JOINT RULE 17. WAYS AND MEANS Final Bill Action: *SENATE FILE 465 (formerly Senate File 260), a bill for an act relating to the certification of plumbers and heat, ventilation, and air conditional professionals, and establish fees and penalties and providing for the use of such fees. Recommendation: APPROVED COMMITTEE BILL.
