                                AFTERNOON SESSION

         The Senate reconvened at 1:50 p.m., President Boswell presiding.



                            COMMITTEE FROM THE HOUSE

         A committee from the House appeared and announced that the House
    was ready to receive the Senate in joint convention.

         Senator Horn moved that the Senate proceed to the House Chamber in
    accordance with House Concurrent Resolution 20 in columns of two led by
    the Secretary of the Senate and the Sergeant-at-arms.



                                JOINT CONVENTION

                                PIONEER LAWMAKERS

                          Fifty-Third Biennial Session

                             House Chamber 1:57 p.m.

         In accordance with House Concurrent Resolution 20, the joint
    convention was called to order, President Boswell presiding.

         President Boswell declared a quorum present and the joint
    convention duly organized.

         Senator Horn moved that a committee of four be appointed to escort
    the Pioneer Lawmakers into the House Chamber.

         The motion prevailed by a voice vote and the President appointed as
    such committee Senators Fink and Rensink and Representatives Renken and
    Connors.

         The committee escorted the Pioneer Lawmakers to seats in the House
    Chamber.

         President Boswell presented the Honorable Tony Bisignano, President
    pro tempore of the Senate, who welcomed the Pioneer Lawmakers on behalf
    of the Senate.

         President Boswell presented the Honorable Harold Van Maanen,
    Speaker pro tempore of the House of Representatives, who welcomed the
    Pioneer Lawmakers on behalf of the House of Representatives.
