SEVENTY-SECOND CALENDAR DAY FORTY-THIRD SESSION DAY Senate Chamber Des Moines, Iowa, Tuesday, March 21, 1995 The Senate met in regular session at 9:05 a.m., President Boswell presiding. Prayer was offered by the University of Northern Iowa Concert Chorale, directed by Dr. Bruce Chamberlain, Cedar Falls, Iowa. The students are Robin Heldt, Tom Davies, Sara VanOverbeke, Paul Carstensen and John Pauly all of Ankeny, and Hillary Kirkpatrick of Urbandale. HOUSE MESSAGE RECEIVED AND CONSIDERED The following message was received from the Chief Clerk of the House: MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the House has on March 20, 1995, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the Senate is asked: House File 258, a bill for an act relating to drug testing of certain employees and applicants for employment, providing for employer defenses, and making penalties applicable. This bill was read first time and passed on file. INTRODUCTION OF BILL Senate File 448, by committee on Agriculture, a bill for an act relating to livestock, by providing for the regulation of animal feeding operations, providing fees and expenditures, providing a property tax credit and an appropriation for livestock and poultry production facilities, and providing a penalty. Read first time and placed on calendar.
