         The following petitions were presented and placed on file by:

         Senator Flynn from 163 residents of Dubuque County favoring
    legislation to rescind the taxation of pension income for state income
    tax purposes.

         The following petitions favoring issuance of motor vehicle licenses
    by county treasurers were presented and placed on file by:

         Senator Iverson from 419 residents of Hamilton County.

         Senator Iverson from 272 residents of Wright County.

         Senator McLaren from 308 residents of Montgomery County.

         The following petitions favoring reestablishing funding for the
    Older Iowans Legislature were presented and placed on file by:

         Senator Dearden from 137 residents of Polk County.

         Senator Palmer from 79 residents of Polk County.

         Senator Szymoniak from 78 residents of Polk County.



                           BILL SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR

         A communication was received announcing that on March 17, 1995, the
    Governor approved and transmitted to the Secretary of State the
    following bill:

         SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 12 - Authorizing the temporary use and
    consumption of alcoholic beverages in the State Capitol in conjunction
    with a buffet dinner sponsored by the Des Moines Rotary Club and
    featuring the State Capitol restoration and providing an effective date.

         Relating to the assessment of certain long distance telephone
