         The following communications from the Governor were received in the

         It is my pleasure to submit to the Senate for their consideration
    the following governors appointees as members of state boards,
    departments and commissions pursuant to 1995 Code of Iowa sections:

         For appointment as members of the Athletic Trainer Advisory Board
    pursuant to Section 152D.7:

         Alan J. Beste, Boone, Boone County, for a term beginning July 1,
    1994, and ending April 30, 1995; Dr. Kenneth W. Caldwell, Cedar Falls,
    Black Hawk County, for a term beginning July 1, 1994, and ending April
    30, 1996; Danny T. Foster, Iowa City, Johnson County, for a term
    beginning July 1, 1994, and ending April 30, 1995; Denise A. Harklau,
    Ames, Story County, for a term beginning July 1, 1994, and ending April
    30, 1995; Dr. Mary A. Khowassah, Iowa City, Johnson County, for a term
    beginning July 1, 1994, and ending April 30, 1996, and Dr. Rick D.
    Wilkerson, Spencer, Clay County, for a term beginning July 1, 1994, and
    ending April 30, 1996.

         Dr. Teresa A. Mock, Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, for appointment
    as a member of the Board of Medical Examiners pursuant to Section
    147.14(2) for a term beginning May 26, 1994, and ending April 30, 1995.

         Elizabeth R. Walker, Davenport, Scott County, for appointment as a
    member of the Board of Parole pursuant to Section 904A.3, for a term
    beginning November 9, 1994, and ending April 30, 1996.

         Dr. Therese M. Vaughan, Des Moines, Polk County, for appointment as
    Commissioner of Insurance pursuant to Section 505.2 for a term beginning
    August 1, 1994, and ending April 30, 1995.

         For reappointment as members of the Commission of Veterans Affairs
    pursuant to Section 35A.2 for terms beginning July 1, 1994, and ending
    April 30, 1998:

         Muriel E. Allan, Maquoketa, Jackson County; Dorothy E. Andrews,
    Cedar Rapids, Linn County, and Gail K. Danilson, Woodward, Boone County.
