The bill having received a constitutional majority was declared to have passed the House and the title was agreed to. IMMEDIATE MESSAGE Gipp of Winneshiek asked and received unanimous consent that Senate Files 266 and 367 be immediately messaged to the Senate. MESSAGES FROM THE SENATE The following messages were received from the Senate: Mr. Speaker: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the Senate has on May 2, 1995, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the Senate was asked: House File 549, a bill for an act relating to the collection of taxes and debts owed to or collected by the state, including the renewal of registrations, the publication of information pertaining to certain taxes and debts, providing for an administrative levy to seize certain accounts of a debtor, the denial, revocation, suspension, or renewal of licenses authorized by the state, redistributing collected amounts, creating a driver's license indebtedness clearance pilot project, and other related matters, and providing an effective date. Also: That the Senate has on May 2, 1995, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the Senate was asked: House File 579, a bill for an act relating to the compensation and benefits for public officials and employees and making appropriations and providing an effective date. JOHN F. DWYER, Secretary EXPLANATION OF VOTE I was necessarily absent from the House chamber on Friday afternoon, April 28, 1995. Had I been present, I would have voted "aye" on House File 573, Senate Files 120 and 475.
