Senate Study Bill 2251

  1  1    Section 1.  Section 912.6, Code Supplement 1995, is amended
  1  2 by adding the following new subsection:
  1  3    NEW SUBSECTION.  6A.  In the event of a victim's death,
  1  4 reasonable charges incurred for health care for the victim's
  1  5 spouse, children, parents, siblings, or persons related by
  1  6 blood or affinity to the victim not to exceed three thousand
  1  7 dollars per survivor.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill provides that survivors of persons who die as a
  1 10 result of a criminal act may receive up to $3,000 for health
  1 11 care from the victim compensation program.  Survivors include
  1 12 the victim's spouse, children, or relatives.
