1 1 Section 1. HIGHWAY 20 EXPANSION. The state department of
1 2 transportation shall reconsider the department's five-year
1 3 plan in order to include and to expedite the expansion of
1 4 highway 20 so that all portions of the highway are four-lane.
1 5 The expansion of highway 20 shall take precedence over other
1 6 highway projects which have been included in the plan.
1 7 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of
1 8 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill requires the state department of transportation
1 11 to reconsider the department's five-year plan in order to
1 12 include and to expedite the expansion of highway 20 so that
1 13 all portions of the highway are four-lane. The bill requires
1 14 the expansion of highway 20 to take precedence over other
1 15 highway projects which have been included in the plan and is
1 16 effective upon enactment.
