1 1 Section 1. Section 455G.4, subsection 3, paragraph f, Code
1 2 1995, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 f. Rules to facilitate and encourage the use of community
1 4 remediation whenever possible shall be adopted. The rules
1 5 shall address the timeliness of payments between contractors
1 6 and subcontractors on community remediation sites and shall at
1 7 a minimum provide for payment by a contractor to a
1 8 subcontractor within thirty days of receipt of funds paid to
1 9 the contractor pursuant to this chapter.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill requires the Iowa comprehensive petroleum
1 12 underground storage tank fund board to adopt rules under
1 13 chapter 17A to address the timeliness of payments between
1 14 contractors and subcontractors on community remediation sites.
1 15 The bill requires that at a minimum, the rules must provide
1 16 for payments by a contractor to a subcontractor within 30 days
1 17 of receipt of underground storage tank funds paid to the
1 18 contractor.
