1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 249A.28 MANAGED CARE SERVICES –
1 2 AUDIT.
1 3 Any contract entered into on or after July 1, 1996, to
1 4 provide managed care services under the medical assistance
1 5 program shall require the performance of a program evaluation
1 6 to be performed prior to the completion date of the contract.
1 7 Additionally, any contract to provide managed care services
1 8 under the medical assistance program which was entered into
1 9 prior to July 1, 1996, shall require the performance of a
1 10 program evaluation to be performed prior to extension or
1 11 renewal of the contract. The evaluation shall be performed by
1 12 an independent entity and shall include, but is not limited
1 13 to, an evaluation of the financial solvency of the contractor,
1 14 an evaluation of consumer and provider satisfaction with the
1 15 contracted services, and an evaluation of the outcomes
1 16 achieved through performance of the contract.
