  1  1    Section 1.  Section 7E.6, subsection 4, Code 1995, is
  1  2 amended by striking the subsection.
  1  3    Sec. 2.  Section 307.6, Code 1995, is amended to read as
  1  4 follows:
  1  5    307.6  COMPENSATION – COMMISSION MEMBERS.
  1  6    Each member of the commission shall be compensated receive
  1  7 a per diem as provided specified in section 7E.6.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill strikes the $10,000 annual compensation for the
  1 10 transportation commission.  The transportation commission
  1 11 would then receive compensation in accordance with section
  1 12 7E.6 which provides that each member receive a $50 per diem.
  1 13 Section 307.8 provides that the members also receive
  1 14 reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses.
