1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 709.18 ABUSE OF A CORPSE.
1 2 A person commits abuse of a human corpse if the person
1 3 knowingly and intentionally engages in a sex act, as defined
1 4 in section 702.17, with a human corpse. Abuse of a human
1 5 corpse is a class "D" felony.
1 6 EXPLANATION
1 7 This bill establishes the crime of abuse of a human corpse
1 8 which is defined as knowingly and intentionally engaging in a
1 9 sex act with a human corpse. Abuse of a human corpse is a
1 10 class "D" felony for which the sentence is confinement for no
1 11 more than five years and a possible fine of at least $500 and
1 12 no more than $7,500.
