1 1 Section 1. Section 68B.22, subsection 4, Code 1995, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
1 3 NEW PARAGRAPH. r. Gifts of food, beverages, registration,
1 4 or scheduled entertainment, with a per person value in excess
1 5 of three dollars, which are given to members of the general
1 6 assembly and legislative employees at a group event to which
1 7 all members of either house or both houses of the general
1 8 assembly are invited.
1 9 Sec. 2. Section 68B.22, subsection 8, Code 1995, is
1 10 amended by striking the subsection.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill permits the giving and receiving of gifts of
1 13 food, beverages, registration, or scheduled entertainment,
1 14 that exceed $3 in value, by legislators and legislative
1 15 employees at group events to which all members of either house
1 16 or both houses of the general assembly are invited.
