1 1 Section 1. There is appropriated from the general fund of
1 2 the state to the department of education for the fiscal year
1 3 beginning July 1, 1995, and ending June 30, 1996, the
1 4 following amount, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to
1 5 be used for the purpose designated:
1 6 COMMUNITY COLLEGE STAFF DEVELOPMENT
1 7 For purposes of professional development and in-service
1 8 training at the community colleges to keep faculty current on
1 9 technology trends and developments:
1 10 .................................................. $ 500,000
1 11 The department shall distribute funds appropriated under
1 12 this section to community colleges based upon the average
1 13 number of full-time equivalent faculty members employed by
1 14 each community college during the fiscal year beginning July
1 15 1, 1994.
1 16 EXPLANATION
1 17 This bill appropriates $500,000 to the department of
1 18 education to be distributed to community colleges for purposes
1 19 of professional development and in-service training to keep
1 20 faculty current on technology trends and developments. The
1 21 department shall distribute the funds to community colleges
1 22 based upon the average number of full-time equivalent faculty
1 23 members employed by each community college during the fiscal
1 24 year beginning July 1, 1994.
