  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  9E.10A  NOTARIAL ACTS &endash;
  1  2 VALIDITY.
  1  3    The validity of a notarial act shall not be affected or
  1  4 impaired by the fact that the notarial officer performing the
  1  5 notarial act is an officer, director, or shareholder of a
  1  6 corporation that may have a beneficial interest or other
  1  7 interest in the subject matter of the notarial act.
  1  8    Sec. 2.  RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY.  This Act applies
  1  9 retroactively to January 1, 1985, to notarial acts performed
  1 10 on or after that date.  
  1 11                           EXPLANATION
  1 12    This bill provides that the validity of a notarial act is
  1 13 not affected or impaired by the fact that a notary is an
  1 14 officer, director, or shareholder of a corporation that may
  1 15 have a beneficial interest in a notarial act.  The bill is
  1 16 made retroactively applicable to January 1, 1985.
