  1  1    Section 1.  Section 22.7, subsection 26, Code 1995, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    26.  Financial information, which if released would give
  1  4 advantage to competitors and serve no public purpose, relating
  1  5 to commercial operations conducted or intended to be conducted
  1  6 by a person submitting records containing the information to
  1  7 the agricultural diversification bureau of the department of
  1  8 agriculture and land stewardship for the purpose of obtaining
  1  9 assistance in business planning.
  1 10    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1 11 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.  
  1 12                           EXPLANATION
  1 13    This bill provides that certain financial information
  1 14 submitted to the department of agriculture and land
  1 15 stewardship for the purpose of obtaining business planning
  1 16 assistance is considered a confidential record.  Current law
  1 17 provides that this financial information is considered
  1 18 confidential only if submitted to the agricultural
  1 19 diversification bureau of the department.  The bill takes
  1 20 effect upon enactment.
