  1  1    Amend the amendment, S-5700, to House File 2421, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 10, by inserting after line 22 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    ""Sec.    .  Section 465B.4, Code 1995, is amended
  1  7 to read as follows:
  1  8    465B.4  FUNDING.
  1  9    To achieve the purposes of this chapter, the state
  1 10 department of transportation, other state agencies,
  1 11 political subdivisions of the state, and private
  1 12 organizations may use funds from the following
  1 13 sources:
  1 14    1.  Funds appropriated by the general assembly.
  1 15 There shall be appropriated from the general fund of
  1 16 the state to the state department of transportation,
  1 17 beginning July 1, 1996, and each fiscal year
  1 18 thereafter, one million dollars to be used for the
  1 19 purposes of this chapter.
  1 20    2.  Private grants and gifts.
  1 21    3.  Federal grants and loans intended for these
  1 22 purposes."
  1 23    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
