  1  1    Amend Senate File 2438, as passed by the Senate, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, lines 6 and 7, by striking the words
  1  4 "of unsound mind" and inserting the following:  "of
  1  5 unsound mind with any type of mental disease or mental
  1  6 disorder, except that mental illness does not refer to
  1  7 mental retardation as defined in section 222.2, or to
  1  8 insanity, diminished responsibility, or mental
  1  9 incompetency as defined and used in the Iowa criminal
  1 10 code or in the rules of criminal procedure, Iowa court
  1 11 rules, 3d ed".
  1 12    #2.  Page 5, by striking lines 20 through 26.
  1 13    #3.  Page 22, line 1, by striking the word "adults"
  1 14 and inserting the following:  "adults adult persons".
  1 15    #4.  By striking page 33, line 31, through page 35,
  1 16 line 11.
  1 17    #5.  Page 36, by striking lines 2 through 27.
  1 18    #6.  Page 40, by striking lines 10 through 19.
  1 19    #7.  Page 41, by striking lines 11 through 18 and
  1 20 inserting the following:
  1 21    "Sec.    .  Section 427.1, subsection 34, Code
  1 22 Supplement 1995, is amended to read as follows:"
  1 23    #8.  Page 41, lines 29 and 30, by striking the
  1 24 words "WITH MENTAL ILLNESS" and inserting the
  1 25 following:  "UNDER LEGAL INCOMPETENCY".
  1 26    #9.  Page 41, by striking lines 31 and 32 and
  1 27 inserting the following:
  1 28    "The vote of any person who is a minor, mentally
  1 29 ill, or under other legal incompetency shall be".
  1 30    #10.  Page 42, line 3, by striking the words "with
  1 31 mental illness or other" and inserting the following:
  1 32 "under".
  1 33    #11.  Page 45, by striking lines 2 and 3 and
  1 34 inserting the following:
  1 35    "No marriage A dissolution of marriage granted due
  1 36 to the mental illness of when one of the spouses has
  1 37 mental illness shall not relieve the".
  1 38    #12.  Page 46, by striking lines 18 through 20 and
  1 39 inserting the following:

  1 43    #13.  Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
  1 44 word "conditions" the following:  ", and providing for

  1 46 illness".
  1 47    #14.  By renumbering, relettering, or redesignating
  1 48 and correcting internal references as necessary.
