  1  1    Amend Senate File 2448 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 26, by inserting after line 30 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  1993 Iowa Acts, chapter 55, section 1,
  1  5 subsection 3, is amended to read as follows:
  1  6    3.  The project shall be completed on or before
  1  7 June 30, 1997, and existing vital records shall be
  1  8 converted to the electronic system by that date.
  1  9 Moneys appropriated pursuant to this section which
  1 10 remain unexpended unencumbered on June 30, 1997, shall
  1 11 revert to the general fund of the state.  The
  1 12 remaining encumbered moneys which remain unexpended on
  1 13 June 30, 1998, shall revert to the general fund of the
  1 14 state.  For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1997,
  1 15 and succeeding fiscal years, the provisions of section
  1 16 144.46, requiring the vital records fee to be set by
  1 17 rule based on the average administrative costs, shall
  1 18 apply."
  1 19    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
